St. Patrick's Day

We had a VERY fun St. Patrick's Day this year!

On Sunday, March 16th we headed out to Ri Ra Irish Pub for a celebratory Irish breakfast.

Abby is wearing her Papa's cap from when he was a boy. Jim got the cap in Ireland when he was a young teen.

Also on Sunday, during Kera's nap time Jim and Abby climbed Lone Mountain!

Jim called me from the top of the mountain and told me that Abby did GREAT! Also, with binoculars I was able to see the two of them waving at me from the very top.

Once Kera woke-up, it was time to make our leprechaun trap.

We all decorated a side. The front of the trap was decorated by Kera. The side you see below with the rainbow was my creation.

The back of the trap was decorated by Abby.

The Celtic cross was drawn by Jim.

After dinner and banana splits...

...and a family viewing of Darby O'Gill and the Little People it was time to set the trap.

Last year we caught a leprechaun's shoe so, this year we are trying to return it. We are also trying to entice the leprechaun into our trap by offering him some shiny jewels and a shot of Jameson Whiskey.

We were lucky enough to have a leprechaun visit us again this year! But, unfortunately, we didn't catch him.... but, we were close. While the leprechaun was collecting his lost shoe and drinking his whiskey his beard got stuck in the tape. The poor little guy had to rip some of his beard hair out to get away.

As you can see, the leprechaun enjoyed the whiskey and also took back his shoe. In return he left two piles of chocolate coins and 2 very special key chains for the girls. He also left his usual breakfast treat...

The leprechaun also played a few tricks on us. First of all, he turned our milk GREEN!  Good thing GREEN milk tastes good with Lucky Charms!

He also painted one of Abby's finger nails, two of Kera's toes, one of my toes, and two of Jim's toes GREEN!

After that shot of Whiskey the leprechaun even got some GREEN paint on Kera's nose.

Every place that our leprechaun played a trick, he left special leprechaun confetti behind.

Abby had school on St. Patrick's Day so, we had fun getting dressed-up for the day!

Kera also made sure that she wore a bit of GREEN to her dance class.

For St. Patrick's Day dinner we had meatloaf, champ, peas, soda bread, and Guinness, YUM!

We had so much fun this St. Patrick's Day that Abby has declared it her 2nd favorite holiday. Her 1-5 ranking is as follows...
  1. Her Birthday
  2. St. Patrick's Day
  3. Halloween
  4. Christmas
  5. 4th of July

Drive-in Movie!

Jim had a great idea for the evening of Saturday, March 1st....the drive-in! I had not been to a drive-in in YEARS and the girls had never been. We didn't tell the girls what we were doing. I just helped the girls into their pajamas and then, into the car; they were very confused! They could not figure out were we where going past their bed time in pjs.

The girls were excited to learn that we were going to a movie and that we got to stay in our car. They were even more excited to learn that we were seeing...

YES, again! If you are counting, like I am, this is the 4th time the girls have seen this movie and it is not out on DVD yet.

We brought along popcorn and drinks and snuggled into the front seats of the car. We had a great time! The movie didn't start until 8:35 and to my surprise the girls stayed awake for the whole movie and the whole ride home. Me, on the other hand I missed the end of the movie. I fell asleep...like I said, we have seen it 4 times!

We will definitely be making a return trip to the drive in!

Shark Reef Party of 2

On Wednesday, February 26th, while Abby was in school, I took Kera to the Shark Reef. I have never been able to go to the Shark Reef along with Kera. Needless to say, we had a great time!

We even had time to stop at Starbucks for a cake pop before going to pick-up Abby from school.

I look forward to future solo dates with my girls!

Which "Frozen" Character Are You?

A funny quiz come up on Facebook and I had Abby take it. The quiz was, Which "Frozen" Character Are You? After she took the quiz she found out that she is Olaf.

Everything about you is charming. You are always ready to help a friend in need and people love your ability to see everything through rose-tinted glasses.

I thought that she would be upset that she wasn't Elsa but, she wasn't. Instead, she excused herself and when she called me upstairs I found her like this...

Not bad for a self made 5 minute costume and, look how proud of herself she looks!

When I took the quiz it ended up that I am Marshmallow...

You may be a little rough around the edges, but you’re just doing your job. You’re also super loyal.

I tried to have Kera take the quiz but, it was a bit hard because having her understand some of the questions was quite difficult but, she ended up being Marshmallow too.

Just to complete the family, I had Jim take the quiz and he got Oaken.

You are the best character in this film, scratch that, IN LIFE. Just look at you. You are progressive, wear the best clothes, and make everyone smile. Go you!

If you were wondering, YES, the whole family is still obsessed with this movie!
