Goodbye Gold Beach

On Friday, August 7th it was time to say goodbye to our amazing beach house but first; one last goodbye to the Rogers' house.

BEST. PLAY. HOUSE. EVER.

Next, onto Grants Pass through the beautiful Bear Camp Coastal Route.

It was not as scary this year but it was equally fun and beautiful. We made our way to Grants pass for the night and to Climate City Brewing Co. where we had great beer and great food.

After dinner we walked around town for a bit and we found Hon...yes the real Hon! The girls were so excited!

That night we stayed in one of the worst hotels ever but, as you can see; it didn't bother Ellie or the girls one bit.

On the 8th we drove to Reno and stayed there for the night. The day was not that exciting but Ellie sure had fun in the hotel room!

On the morning of the 9th as we here gassing up the car for the long ride home I received a call from my aunt that my grandma passed away. I think there is something in the cosmos that does not want me to EVER come back from the Oregon coast. Last year on the way home I found out that my dear cat Billy passed away at 16 years old and then, this year...my 95 year old grandma. She lived an amazing life and will be missed by many!

Gold Beach, OR, Day 5 & 6

The next morning I had a beautiful walk with the dogs.

Then, it was off for a hike.

We went on this hike last year and it is the perfect hike for little legs.

Unfortunately on this hike we had a bit of a mishap. I asked the girls to pose by a beautiful tree stump and it was right by a wasp nest. Ker and Maya were luck and ran away with zero stings. Abby was not so lucky...she was stung 2 or 3 times and was a very unhappy camper.

After the hike we headed to lunch at Cougar Lodge. They have an amazing view of the Rouge and great BBQ! Plus, they have a little market were we were able to find Benadryl for Abby. First, a little time on the Rouge...

Next, lunch...

Then back to the Rouge...

A man in his happy place.

I don't think there is anything better than this!

After our great day we headed back to our house for another beautiful sunset!

Thursday, August 6th was our last full day in Gold Beach. It is amazing how quickly the week flew by! On our last day we tried to see the tide pools again at Meyers Creek but unfortunately it was too foggy to see much. At least Chewy had a good time!

Also on out last day we made sure to spend lots of time in the Roger's House.

Abby wanted to make sure that we left instructions on the Roger's House for the next inhabitants...

Here are some of the notes...

We tried to eat in as much as possible but we couldn't leave Gold Beach with out eating at the Chowder House...it has always been one of our favorites!

One last family picture before we say goodbye.

It was an amazing trip with an amazing clan...the Rogers' clan!
