On Saturday, September 6th Kera started her very first season of soccer. She was very excited! When we were watching the world cup this year she kept on saying that she was going to play that and, the day finally arrived.
She was especially excited about her uniform...
..and so was I; she has the same number I had when I played. I might have asked for that jersey number for her...if it was not available I would not have been upset but, I am happy it was.
The soccer season began with a league wide opening ceremony. An opening ceremony is fun in theory but, not so much in practice. All of the teams involved in the league parade onto the field and participate in the beginning of the soccer season BUT...they line the players up by age, little kids first, so it took a LONG time! By the time all teams had paraded in the little kids were getting quite anxious plus, even though it was at 8 in the morning, it was HOT! It did have some nice moments though...
As a general rule I really don't like when balloons are released into the sky but, I it was fun for the kids and at least we don't live by any water.
Another good thing about being involved in the opening ceremony...free mile and donuts!
We had about 2 hours between the opening ceremony and Kera's soccer practice so we ran home for a bit before heading back to the field.
Watching Kera on the field was so much fun and she was having fun too.
When soccer was over she asked when she could do it again! I hope she has a very fun season!
