Oregon Bound!

On July, 28th we headed out for our annual trip to Gold Beach, OR.

This is our 3 year to Gold Beach and we were as excited as if it was our first!

Our first night we stayed in Reno but, before we headed to our hotel went to Tahoe to spend some time with our friend Shannon and her 2 kiddos, Masson and Meredith. We spent a great a great 4 hours with them and the girls were so happy to see their friends after a long day in the car. One we got into the hotel the kids and dogs settled right in.

This was Ellie's first hotel experience...I think she liked it!

On day 2 our little monkeys were ready to get on the road!

Our drive on the second day took us to Medford, OR. After a bit of a kerfunkel without hotel (the original one we had booked didn't allow pets) and a troublesome dinner (not finding a spot and then having bad service) we finally settled in.
On day three of our trip we were VERY excited! This was the day that we were going to meet-up with Joe, Remy, and Maya. Our plans were to meet-up with them at Creator Lake but we had heard from a hotel attendant that there some beautiful waterfalls right by Creator Lake National Park so we make plans to meet them there. Unfortunately, Joe, Remy, and Mays were detoured several hours by a forest fire. I can't pass-up a waterfall after being in the dessert so long so we decided to check them out and then meet up with them at Creator Lake. The first water fall we went to was Toketee Falls...AMAZING!

It was a short hike...

...to some AMAZING views!

Next up, Watson Falls! This water fall was equally as beautiful! Plus, the dogs got to take a water break!

Next stop, Creator Lake and the rest of the Rogers clan!

Pepe and Burrs' 2nd Summer Visit, part 2

On the 2nd day of Pepe and Burrs visit we headed to the Adventure Zone at the Circus Circus. I had been looking for an excuse to take the girls there and what better excess is there then grandparents. Unfortunately, Kera was just a smidgen too short to ride the big rides but we made the best of our time there.

I was able to take Abby on one big ride, El Loco and I need to tell you is was Loco! Abby and I were completely freaked out but, had a GREAT time!

See the yellow track? Yep, that's the one. Lots of quick upside downs. We had fun but we will need to make sure that we don't go back until Kera is tall enough...poor thing was upset most of the time and she was only 1/2 inch off.

After the Adventure Dome we tried to find the casino floor but instead, we found some hats.

The following day we had a play date set up at one of our favorite parks. With how warm is was we were happy that this park has a splash pad and water toys!

On Friday, July 24th we finally spend some time at home. She girls showed off their bike skills...

...and the girls were able to spend some quality cough potato time with Pepe.

Even Burrs got into the couch potato action!

I am pretty sure they are watching Star Wars here...their new obsession!

On Saturday my parents headed back home. We had a great, packed full of adventures visit. See you next time Pepe and Burrs!

Pepe and Burrs' 2nd Summer Visit, part 1

On Tuesday, July 21st my parents arrived in town for their 2nd visit of the summer. Jim was supposed to go on a business trip during this week so...I invited my parents to come to town but...last minute Jim's trip was cancelled but we still got to see Pepe and Burrs.

As soon as the girls and I picked-up Pepe and Burrs from the airport we were off on our first adventure. Our first adventure was Roos-n-more. The girls and I had not been there since before we went to Maryland and we were all very excited to go! Unfortunately, our field trip was made a little more adventurous due to us (...ok me...) getting lost. Thankfully (I HATE BEING LATE), we finally made it and had an amazing time. My friend Megan arranged a group of 20 of us to go and see their fantastic animals!

First it was the sloth!

Next, it was the lemur...

I don't remember what type of lizard this is but, it was HUGE!

 I don't think I have ever seen a cuter fox...EVER!

We then headed outside.

Camel kiss!

Baby Donkey...

...and a baby zebra!

R.O.T.S.s (Rate of Unusual Size)

We headed back inside for this amazing guy!

A few more animals outside...

The girls even got to bring home their own porcupine quill!

Even with all of this animal fun, we still had time for the pool!
