Kane County Cougars

For Father's day I had gotten Jim Kane County Cougar tickets and last Saturday was the game. The Kane County Cougars are a minor league baseball team that is affiliated the Oakland Athletics.
I didn't plan this but on Saturday night they played the Clinton Lumberkings who are a affiliated with the MARINERS!

We got tickets in the lawn area. There are 2 sections of the field, on the first base side and the third base side, that are general admission lawn areas. You can bring in blankets and chairs and it is great for the kids!
The Lumberkings won the game 9-1 (GO M'S). We had a great time and we were sad to say that it was our first and last Cougars game but...we are looking forward to checking out some 51's games. The 51's are affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays and play out of Vegas.

Big Move Ahead...

Jim got the news yesterday...WE ARE MOVING TO LAS VEGAS!! New adventures are definitely ahead of us.

This should be a great move for us. The work there for Jim should be AMAZING. Also, the cost of living is quite low. We should be able to get a very nice house for the low 200's plus there is no state tax...HURRAY!!

We are looking forward to this new chapter in our lives and we are excited to not have to live through another Chicago winter.

Abby is a tall drink of water...

Abby had her 6 months doctors appointment yesterday and she is the picture of health. Jim does have one concern though...she is off the charts when it comes to her height. The doctors says that she is as tall as the average 9 month old. I asked the doctor if these charts mean anything in the long run and she said not at this point but, Jim is concerned that she will only be able to date basketball players. We always knew she would be a tall girl =)

At the appointment she weighed 15 lbs 15 oz (50th percentile) and was 28 1/4 inches long (over the 95th percentile).

July

It has been a while since I have been able to sit down and do a bit of blogging so...I am going to talk about one month of activities in one post.

July brought Abby's first solid food meal...
Abby is a GREAT little eater!
July was also Abby's first 4th of July. We had a very low key weekend. We decided that Abby was too young for fireworks but NOT for Ribfest. Jim and I love Ribfest. Who does not love a bunch of ribs, beer, music, and friends.

Stacy and Emma...
Jim and Abby...
Abby had so much fun that she fell asleep...

In July we spent quite a bit of time at Centennial Beach...

I was able to go to the opening day of the new Harry Potter movie with a few of my girl friends...LOVED IT!

I can't wait for the final movies.

In July Abby sat up all by herself...
My parents also came for a nice long weekend. at the end of the month.

When my parents were in town we went to Centennial Beach...
...spent a lot of time hanging out together...
...went to see Aunt Kay and Cousin Joanne...
...and took Abby to her first trip to the zoo. She had a great time looking at all the animals as long as they were outside. She started to cry every time we went into an indoor exhibit.
We had a great July and we are looking forward to August.
