Abby had a St. Patrick's Day party at school on Thursday. At school the leprechaun brought treats and played tricks on the class. Abby also remembers last St. Patrick's Day and the treats and tricks he brought to our house. The party and her memories made her very excited for the weekend.
On Saturday we headed out to a St. Patrick's Day parade. It was the first St. Patrick's Day parade that we have been to in 4 years and it was Kera's very first parade. We had great fun! The girls loved it and it was so great for us to see their excitement!
On Saturday afternoon we made leprechaun traps. We were hoping to catch a leprechaun so that he could grant us our 3 wishes. The leprechaun traps were covered with pretty drawings and jewels in hopes to attract the leprechaun. We also made a door in the trap and then put tape on the trap floor hoping he would get stuck.
Saturday night we watched one of our favorite St. Patrick's Day movies, Darby O'Gill and the Little People.
While the girls were asleep the leprechaun did indeed visit our house! How do we know? Well unfortunately he got out of the trap but he did leave evidence behind...HIS SHOE!
Abby and Kera were very surprised but Abby was very concerned about making sure that we got the shoe back to the leprechaun. I told her were can try to give it back to him next year.
He also left some treats....
...Lucky Charms and gold coins. The leprechaun also played a few tricks....he turned our milk
GREEN. He also pained Abby's thumb nail green...
...and Kera's big toe nail!
Next, breakfast....
green pancakes and Lucky Charms...of course!
The rest of the day was very low key we went to the gym and watched more St. Patrick's Day movies.
But, even Chewy was forced to get into the spirit!
Finally, dinner...Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes, soda bread, and spirits!
What a fun couple of days!
