Oz

Wizard of Oz by Abby...

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a GREAT Memorial day weekend! We were trying to decide whether to go to Pittsburgh or stay around home. We decided to stay home and it was a great decision!

On Saturday we headed to one of our favorite parks Wheaten Regional State Park. We have played at the playground several times but have never explored the other parts of the park, until now. We discovered that the park has some great walking trails, gardens, and a fish pond. We always knew that the park had a few rides but we had never gone on them...today was the perfect day!

A great small train ride...

...and a carousel!

Of course, there was time to play at the playground!

Sunday afternoon we headed to Annapolis to our friends Sally and Paul's house for dinner. After dinner we drove to downtown Annapolis for some ice cream.

It was so busy in the town center that we decided to park a bit out of town and take the free trolley in, the kids were thrilled!

Ice cream time! The line at the ice cream shop was HUGE so, the girls and I ran to Starbucks to use their restroom. While we were waiting in line to use the restroom the girls started singing the star spangled banner. The singing continued into the bathroom and apparently we were putting on a concert because when we left the restroom we were met with applause...a fun treat extra treat for the girls.

After our impromptu concert it was back to the ice cream line but, the girls agree that, all the waiting was well worth the wait.

After ice cream it was time to get back on the trolley and head home.

The kids were hilarious on the trolley back to the car, they were literally bouncing off the walls. Sugar high is ABSOLUTELY a very real thing!

On Monday we went to Centennial Park for some paddle boat fun. Abby was a bit scared to get on the boat at first but, once she finally got on...we all had a blast (it helped that the boat was purple and sparkly)! It was fun looking at all the water animals, buoys, and plant life.

Very fun family weekend!

6 Weekend!

On Saturday, May 18th we headed to Seneca Creek State Park for a good hike and some time at the recycled tire playground. Here are a few of the pictures...

...there were a few raindrops but that didn't stop our fun!

On Sunday (our anniversary), we decided to postpone our celebration until my parents arrived in June so, what did we do instead? Family pictures! I know, really romantic but, I have been wanting to get pictures of the girls for a long time! Here are a few of the pictures...

Love this picture of Kera!
Sweet picture of the girls but, what is with my hair?
Misty rainy weather that is what.

Fun in Annapolis

On Friday, May 17th we met some friends (Sally, Luca, and Jack) at their house in Annapolis and then headed to downtown for a very fun morning.

For something a little  different, we all loaded onto a boat for a 40 min tour of the harbor. The kids, and the adults, had a blast! The crew was amazingly accommodating to us...poor Jack currently has a cast on his leg AND there were several field trips on board...the crew showed us right to the best seat on the boat; the bench right in front of the bulkhead. Here are a few pictures from our cruise.

Abby's favorite part was when fast boats would go by and we had to go over their wakes.

Kera was not a big fan of the wakes but she did like the buoys.

VERY fun day!

Mother's Day Weekend

On Thursday after school Abby gave me her amazing mother's day creations!
I am 18 years old!

Beautiful presents from a beautiful, kind girl!

On Sunday Jim and I had a deal that he would get up with the girls but...there was a hokey game the night before....that's ok, I enjoy my early morning with the girls.

After breakfast, we headed out to Brighton Dam. I just recently learned about Brighton Dam and their beautiful Azalea garden and we decided to check it out. I am so happy we did; it was beautiful!

First, the Azalea garden...

Gazebo

Agreed!

I am so very lucky to be the mother of these crazy, smart, wonderful, and beautiful girls!

What a loving big sister...most of the time.

Next, it was off to the dam and playground...

Brighton Dam. It is no Hoover but, still amazing.

Chewy even got to join in on the fun.
Beautiful little stream

Fun at the playground!
Unfortunately, it was not such a very nice day on Sunday, a bit chilly so, we headed home.

Later on, Jim made us an AMAZING dinner, steak, scallops, and asparagus with white wine and, flowers for the table.

The girls had fish sticks, tater tots, and peas...YUM!

For dessert Jim and I made homemade strawberry shortcake...extra YUM!!

I am a very lucky mama!
