On Wednesday, May 6th Jim's parents came to town to meet Abby and of course she was a HUGE hit..Abby delighted the crowd with her new vocal skills...

We had a very nice visit which included daily walks...

Wednesday, Naperville River Walk:

Thursday, a walk through our neighborhood prairie:

Friday, around Whelan Lake:

Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor on Saturday but the walks continued on Sunday and Monday with a walks around the neighborhood:

On Saturday night we had a very nice dinner with Frank and Manuela...thank you very much for having us over!

On Sunday we went to dinner at our local pub, Quigley's.

While Pop and Gwen were here they taught us a new magic trick...first you see the chocolate...

...then it is gone...

Don't worry, by the time they left, the big Hershey's kiss was gone too.

Here are a few more pictures of their time with us...

Thanks for coming to see us Granpap and Gram! We are looking forward to your next visit.

Abby is now truly a mover and a shaker. A few weeks ago I posted a video of her turning from her tummy to her back and now she can do it the other way too...

She has been doing this for a few days now but she is not at the point where she is doing it every time I lay her down. She has also become more active in her crib at night I will lay her down vertically and I will go in and check on her and she will be horizontal.

It is truly amazing how much she has changed and grown in 3 short months.

Grandma Mary & Grandpa's Visit

Last Thursday my parents arrived in town to visit Abby...notice that I said Abby not me and Jim =).

On Friday mom and I went to Morton's Arboretum. The arboretum was having a free day to celebrate Arbor Day. According to the arboretum's website...

"Arbor Day (April 24) is the United States' first environmental holiday. It is the one holiday dedicated to celebrating trees."
Joy Morton who was the founder of the Morton Salt Company, dedicated his estate land to create Morton Arboretum. The arboretum lets people in free on Arbor day because Arbor day was created by Joy Morton's father in 1872.

Friday was a beautiful day; it was the first 80 degree day that we have had this year. Due to the nice weather and the free admission the arboretum was packed!! My mom and I have never see so many strollers in one place at one time! The arboretum is so big though that my mom and I were able to get away from the crowds and enjoy a nice walk.

While mom and I were at the arboretum dad was busy working on his dad-to-do-list. I had a few projects that I wanted dad's help with. One of the items on the list was building some rocking deck chairs. My parents have these chairs at home and the are my favorite.
On Saturday and Sunday the weather was not in our favor so we stayed around the house and played with Abby. Dad liked some of Abby's toys too...

Saturday evening my dad's cousin Joanne came over for dinner. It is always a pleasure to visit with cousin Joanne.

On Monday I took my parents to story time at the library. Abby and I have been going to story time twice a week for a while and it was fun to bring my parents along. Dad decided that he would spend some quiet time alone in the library but mom came to the class with me.
I think mom got a real kick out of watching all the young kids. Needless to say with a bunch of kids running around the library is not as quiet as it used to be.

Also on Monday we did a bit of walking around downtown Naperville...when the weather allowed...it was a very rainy day. We did stop into a place for some frozen yogurt. Here is a picture of Grandpa Suhler's girls at the yogurt shop...
It was a nice visit but of course, way too short. We are now looking forward to Pop and Grandma Rogers' visit. It will be their first time coming to meet Abby and we can't wait to show her off.

On another topic, today Abby is 3 months old and we are amazed by how time flies and how much she has grown. Here are a couple of new pictures of our 3 month old...sitting up! She is being propped-up of course.

Abby the Movie Critic

With 4 movies under her belt Abby might grow up to be a movie critic. This week we saw Russwll Crowe's State of Play.

We saw this movie with our new friends Rebbecca (mom) and Hanna (4 month old daughter). I am usually not a Russell Crow fan but I liked him in this movie. The fact that he was a Steelers fan in the movie might have helped his cause a bit. Even though I liked the movie I am not sure of the title...what does State of Play mean...I am not sure. Also I am not sure about the ending. It came to an conclusion very quickly. Here is a picture of Abby and I at the movie...

Easter Weekend

This Easter weekend was nice and low key.

On Saturday was my mom's birthday. Even though we were not able to be together Abby sent her good wishes.

On Sunday Abby got her very first Easter basket...

(I am AMAZED that I got this shot!)

Abby in her Easter dress...

Love the bunny ears!

We had a nice breakfast at home, went for a long walk, and then went over to the Trelo's for dinner. Dinner was great but the company was even better. We had a nice meal of ham (Jim was thrilled) and turkey. We also watched the dramatic end of the Masters...

Argentina has their first Masters winner, Angel Cabrera. He won by the skin of his teeth in a three way play off.

While we were watching the Masters Mark Trelo took his turn at holding Abby...

I hope everyone had a nice Easter!
