HALLOWEEN!!

We were very excited for Halloween this year but, when are we not excited for Halloween? This year Abby was Rapunzel and Kera was a ballerina kitty.

Luckily, this year the girls had a lot of opportunities to wear their costumes! Their first opportunity was on October 25th at Jim's work. Every year we have lived here we have participated in the trick-or-treat at Jim's work and the girls always have a great time...and it was their first time testing out their costumes.

The second time they wore their costumes was the next day at our friend's annual Halloween party. We were happy to be invited again this year and reconnect with some people that we had not had a chance to see yet.

Jim and I had been so busy getting the house organized and getting the girls costumes ready that we had neglected our own costumes. This is what we came up with...

...we don't look so good, OUCH! We had some fake skin and blood left over from previous Halloweens so this costume was perfect for us, scary and cheap.

We had a lot of fun at the party and stayed way later than we should have.

On Sunday we took a break from the Halloween festivities for a fun family walk through Calico Basin. It was a beautiful hike right outside of Red Rock Canyon.

On Monday the 28th Abby got to wear her costume to school (this was Abby's 3rd time in costume).

On Wednesday night we carved our pumpkins.

Finally, Halloween day! During the day we went to a Halloween themed storytime...

...then, it was home to finish-up our decorations.

Next, back into our costumes.

Papa got into the Halloween spirit too!
Our friend from the neighborhood, Angelina, joined us for trick-or-treating.

What a fun night for the girls!

Look at the loot!

Our decorations at night...

The night ended with the first leaf being placed om our Thanksgiving Tree.

Abby is thankful for Halloween, so am I!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
