It has been a while since we have been able to get out for a hike but, on Labor Day, we were finally able to get out for a family hike. The girls are always so happy when they get to bramble!

So Big!
Abby had her school pictures really early this year and they are adorable!
I can not believe how grown-up she has become between this picture and her first school picture!

So big!
Sometimes I wish I could stop time and have Abby and Kera be little forever but, on the other hand, I am so excited to see who they become.
In Preperation
When we were in Oregon Abby's front took became very wiggly so, in preparation for the arrival of the tooth fairy the girls and I made tooth pillows. The girls picked out the design and also helped me sew them. Here is Kera's...
Abby's looks the same but of course, it is purple.
A couple days later the girls had a dentist appointment where we found out that Abby had an infection behind her wiggly front tooth. At some point Abby damaged her 2 front teeth; one (the wiggle one) is darker than the rest of her teeth and the other one is chipped. The dentist also informed us that her two front bottom teeth are wiggly too but...we needed to get the infected tooth out sooner rather than later before the got worse. We are ready for you tooth fairy...anytime you are ready so are we.
Kera's First Day of Beginnergarden
August 25th was Kera's first day of beginnergarden and she was very excited.
First up, breakfast...leftovers from yesterday's National Waffle day.
After waffles we packed-up Kera up for the day...
...and headed off to school.
Kera was very excited to be in a new classroom with some old friends.

Abby's First Day of 1st Grade
The day after I got back from Minnesota was Abby's first day of 1st grade...can you believe it...1st grade!!!
In addition to it being the first day of school it was also National Waffle Day!
After waffles we packed-up Abby for the day...
...and head off to school.
Last year we entered school through the kindergarten playground; this year we enter through the big playground...WOW what a difference!
For dinner we headed out to Cornish Pasty. I was a bit worried that the girls wouldn't eat anything but, boy was I wrong! The loved the Oggie (The Traditional Pasty) which was filled with
steak, potatoes, onion and rutabaga, YUM!
What a great day! Next up, Kera's first day of beginnergarden!

Goodbye Grandma
On Thursday, August 20th I flew solo to Minnesota for may Grandma's funeral. It was a crazy, hard, and fast weekend packed full of family, tears, and goodbyes.
My grandma was a woman that will not easily be forgotten. She was very strong, opinionated and she was blessed with an amazing life. If only we all could be so lucky. Rest in peace Grandma Brick.
