Gold Beach, OR, Day 4

On our 4th day in Gold Beach we all got up bright and early to catch our boat, Jerry's Rogue Jet boat. This is our second annual jet boat ride and we had so much fun last year that we made sure that we got our same captain, Kevin, for the same tour, 80 miles.

The girls were very excited to get on the boat.

Abby and Kera also wanted to make sure that we got wet so...we asked Kevin for the wettest spot on the boat!

Seated and ready to go...

As soon as we got on the boat we saw some amazing wild life...

Swallow nests under the bridge

Majestic bald eagle

 Osprey
more Osprey

...and amazing scenery!

As I said, the girls wanted to get wet and...they got their wish. I was wearing jeans and after our second 360 my undies were wet! Next time, water proof pants!

Time for lunch at the AMAZING Lucas Lodge.  We ate there last year and just had to come back!

The most amazing fried chicken lunch with the freshest of ingredients.

Back on the boat headed back to town.

Such an amazing morning! We can't wait to see Kevin again next year!

After the boat Jim and I made a detour to out favorite brewery! We LOVE their beer and drank at least a growler a day...at least!

Don't worry, we still had time to play in Roger's house.

Also, earlier in the week we went blackberry picking. Unfortunately the berries were not quite ripe yet but after a long day on the river we still had enough to make blackberry shortcake.

The night ended perfectly with the best sunset of the trip!

Gold Beach, OR, Day 2 and 3

On Sunday, August 2nd (our second full day in Gild Beach) I woke-up and took the dogs for a nice long walk on the beach. It was a bit misty but, beautiful.

After everyone was up and ready to go we headed into Brookings to our favorite junk/ pirate shop. It is always so much fun to explore this shop and see what treasures we can find.

This time we walked out with necklaces for the girls, 2 gold deplumes, and a families worth of glass beach balls...quite a hall.

After the store we found a great little restaurant for lunch, The Vista Pub. It was supper yummy and definitely worth a return trip.

On the way back to our rental house we stopped by arch rock. We had always thought that arch rock was at Meyer's Creek beach but we were mistaken. Arch rock is a beautiful sight...no wonder there is an amazing beer named after it.

I don't think the girls cared very much about Arch Rock but, they sure are cute.

...even when they are being silly.

After Arch Rock we headed back to the house to relax, play in Roger's House...

...and get read a good story from Uncle Joe.

The next morning we got up bright and early and headed to Meyer's Creek to see the tide pools. The tide was at a -.7. This is the lowest tide they had had in a while and the lowest tide we were going to see all week. The tide pools did not disappoint!

Even though we loved the tide pools we were ready to head back to the house and relax.

Monday, August 3rd was also National Watermelon Day...of course we had to partake.

Plus there was time to play in the Roger's house!

Even though the day was cloudy we had a beautiful view from our deck Monday evening!
