Every Sunday at the Roger's during the fall and early winter = STEELERS DAY! The girls have really gotten into the spirit too...the both have their very own terrible towels and cheer leading outfits.

Our Girls
It is so much fun watching the girls together now that Kera is more mobile! I can't wait to see them grow up together. I hope that they will always appreciate each other's company...well at least most of the time.

First Snow!
On December 1st we had our first snow of the season...
...I know it is hard to tell but, I promise, it is there.
Last year I started the tradition on the first snow we make cookies. Making cookies is fun...
...but eating the dough is better!

Thanksgiving Weekend
We had a great Thanksgiving this year!
We started off our weekend on Wednesday afternoon with some family time in our neighborhood park. Abby loves running down the big hill and Kera is trying to keep-up with her big sister.
Next, it was time for one of my all time favorite movies...
...Charley and the Chocolate Factory (the original version not the stupid remake with Johnny Depp)!
Thursday morning we were up bright and early for a Roger's family turkey day tradition, running a 5k. For the second year in a row we participated in the Catch a Gobbler 5k and everyone did great! It is so nice to get a bit of exercise in so that we can justify our gluttony later.
Finally, it was time for the main event DINNER! It was only the 4 of us this year but we still had the usual spread:
In usual fashion Abby did not eat much but Kera did! But...Kera only ate cranberries; almost a 1/2 a can worth.
On Friday morning we took the girls to one of our favorite playgrounds in Vegas, they had a blast!
On Friday evening we had our first annual day after thanksgiving bowling tournament. It was so much fun! Abby did great! The bowling ally was great they have the computers set up so that when it was Abby's turn the side bumpers would come up but when it was Jim or my turn the bumpers would be down. I wish I was allowed to use the bumpers but, it is against the rules.
Let the Christmas festivities begin!

Did I mention that we got up early...

After the run and getting the bird in the oven we headed out for the first annual Loan Mountain West Turkey Day Football game...SO MUCH FUN...even though my team lost miserably!

Thanksgiving night it was time to start watching Christmas movies and what better way to start then with Miracle on 34th Street, my favorite.

The final activity of the Thanksgiving weekend was a nice hike at Red Rock Canyon on Sunday. It was a beautiful day out and Abby walked farther than she ever has.
Let the Christmas festivities begin!
New Car Seats for the Girls
Now that Kera is 1 it was about time that she was able to see what was coming at her in the car instead of looking at what we had already seen so...the weekend after Kera's birthday we bought Abby a new car seat booster and transferred Kera into Abby seat. It is very nice to be able to see both of my girls' faces in my rear view mirror!

Kera's Birthday Weekend
Kera had a wonderful birthday weekend. My parents came to town on Wednesday to help us celebrate. On Wednesday we stayed around the house and had a fun day of playing and napping...
On Thursday Burrs joined the girls and I at storytime while Pepe played a bit of golf. After storytime we headed to Starbucks...of course. Kera really enjoyed her pumpkin bread! I think she left more for the birds than actually went into her mouth.
Later that night we had the "incident"...
On Friday, Jim, Abby, and my parents headed out to Nellis Air Force Base for their annual air show while Kera and I prepared for her party. I have to admit I was VERY jealous that they got to go to the airshow but there was no way that I could go to the show and get ready for the party. They had a great time at the airshow! Friday was the dress rehearsal for the show on Saturday and Sunday but due to Jim's position they were able to go on Friday and park on base. Usually, people have to be bussed in. Here are a few pictures of their day...
Like I said, as the rest of the family was out playing, Kera and I were home getting ready for her party...
The older kids decorated cupcakes:
and had a craft...
And of course, there was cake...
Don't worry, she eventually got into it...
Notice the cake on the wall....
And very generous presents:
My parent headed home first thing Monday morning. It was a great weekend!
Happy birthday dear Kera!!
Pepe was a bit aggressive when he went to say hello to Burrs!
They even got to see the Thunder Birds perform.
Kera's party was a great success!
We had pizza:

On Saturday we went to a local farmers market were there was a petting zoo. The girls loved the animals!
Saturday night Jim and I actually got to go out on a date...too bad we were so tired. We had dinner and then headed straight home to bed.
Sundays, in the fall, our house is Steeler country!
We all headed out for lunch to watch the Steelers log a W against the Bungholes (Bengals).
My parent headed home first thing Monday morning. It was a great weekend!
Happy birthday dear Kera!!
