Tutu Please

Abby is tutu obsessed! Everyday, at some point during the day, Abby has a tutu on. She wears them with everything and anything. Here is the proof...4 pictures from three different days in a row.

Update 3/16: Abby wore her purple tutu today and then when it was time for Jim to get her ready for bed she refused to take it off...she slept in her pajama top and her tutu. The next morning when I tried to get her dressed for the day I received more resistance in taking off the tutu. I finally did win but the purple tutu was replaced by her pink one.

Joanne's Visit

During the first week of March we had our yearly visit from my dad's cousin Joanne. We love having her here with us! Joanne spent the week with me doing all of our normal activities (dance class, story time, shark reef...) and she genuinely seemed to enjoy every minute.

Joanne and Jim were hoping to see Barry Manilow while she was in town but, it didn't work out...again. Last year when Joanne was here Barry was in the process of moving from the Hilton to the Paris hotel and was not performing. Then, we learned on this trip, that even though Barry was now at the Paris hotel in a brand new theater, he only performs 1 week a month . Wouldn't you know it...the week that Joanne is here he is not performing. Better luck next year. Maybe third time is a charm. So, instead, Joanne and I got to go see Love.

I am not a huge Beatles fan but there was not a moment of this show that I didn't enjoy! It was AMAZING!! I am so happy that I was able to go.

It was a great visit and for days after Joanne left, Abby was asking were Joanne was. We can't wait for next year!

Pinetop-Lakeside AZ

On the last weekend of February we were invited to go to our friends Rebecca and Brad's cabin in Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ. It was quite a drive, 6.5 hours, but it was nice to get out of town for a few days. Brad and Rebecca also have 2 little girls the same age as Abby and Kera, so it was fun spending time with another family like us...even Chewy got to join us. Here are a few pictures from the weekend...

Roasting marshmallows with Brad at the fireplace...Abby was not a huge fan, she liked the raw marshmallows:

Playing in the newly fallen snow:

Here is a video of the sledding fun:

Kera bundled up by the fire:

The rest of the weekend we relaxed and played games. Very fun weekend with great friends...but the drive WAS long...did I mention it was 6.5 hours?!?

Dance Class

Abby and her little friends have done such a great job in their mommy and me dance class that they changed the format to a class just for the girls. Abby is loving her Monday afternoon tap and ballet class!

Super Bowl XLV Weekend

We had a VERY busy beginning of the year...Jim's 40th birthday party, Abby's 2nd birthday party, and then a Super Bowl XVL gathering!

Super Bowl Sunday started with Abby's soccer class...

Unfortunately, soccer has not been what we had expected. They don't actually play much soccer and Abby loses interest 1/2 way through the class. After this session is over we are going to take a bit of a break and revisit soccer when she is a bit older. We hope that she learns to love soccer as much as Jim and I do.

For the big game we had a few of our neighborhood friends over to help us cheer on the Steelers.

Well, it did not go our way this year, Green Bay won 31-25. It was an amazing year for the Steelers though! No one would have guessed at the beginning of the season that we would have made it to the Super Bowl especially because our starting quarterback had a 4 game suspension at the beginning of the season and all of the injuries our starters had including Polamalu.

Thank you to Stacy, Ed, and Brad for watching the game with us. And a special thank you to Brad for helping us build the Steelers barge of victory...too bad it didn't work...this year.
