Kera Elizabeth

We happily welcome Kera Elizabeth to our family!

Kera was born on 11/11 at 11:13 (SO close to 11:11). She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Mom, dad, big sister Abby and Kera are doing great!

Halloween

This year was Abby's first real Halloween. Last year she was only 9 months old and we had just moved to Vegas on October 30th and not moved into the house yet so, we spent Halloween in the hotel.

This year the Halloween festivities began on Friday the 29th with a trick-or-treating event at Jim's office. There was a costume contest and lots of candy to be had. Abby actually won the costume contest for her age group there were 12 other kids in the running. I guess stressing over making her costume paid off.

On Saturday we went to Gilcrease Orchard to find our perfect pumpkins. Gilcrease Orchard was amazing it was only about 20 min away but it is an actual orchard, in VEGAS. Even though we waited until the last minute to get our pumpkins there were still plenty to choose from. This will definitely be out yearly pumpkin patch.





On Halloween afternoon we painted/carved our pumpkins...



Finally Halloween night was upon us. All of Abby's friends met at our house for a group picture:

Then it was off trick-or-treating. Abby did great. She would run up to the door with Rohan yelling trick-or-treat and then would wait nicely at the door for the owners to answer. The funny thing is as soon as the people would open the door she would say thank you and turn around...without getting the candy. At least she had good manners.

After a busy weekend and a great night of trick-or-treating Abby was ready for a good night's rest while Jim and I finished watching the Steelers game.

We are already looking forward to next year!

Pine Cone Hunt

Last month we headed up to Mount Charleston for a pine cone hunt and lunch at the lodge. We had not been up there in quite a while and we were hoping to see some fall colors. As usual, the mountain did not disappoint. Here are a few pictures from our fall afternoon (note: it was 85 degrees here yesterday...nowhere near fall weather).

Hawaii

Last month we took a family vacation to Maui. The first week we spent enjoying the local beaches and exploring the island. Here are some pictures of our adventures...

Note to self: Don't EVER take a 19 month old on the LONG WINDY road to Hana. Also probably not the best idea to take a pregnant lady either.

Aquarium:

This aquarium was fantastic! My only disappointment was that they didn't have any dolphins or whales but the fish, turtles, sharks, and manta rays were amazing!

Joe and Remy joined us for our second week and the adventures continued.

Grandma (Burs) & Grandpa (Pepe) Suhler Come to Town

A few weekends ago my parents came to town for a visit. We had a great time, as usual. Here are some picture highlights...

We took a trip to the Secret Garden (where Siegfried & Roy house their white tigers) and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage. Abby was SO enthralled with the dolphins.

The Mirage also has a huge fish tank in their front lobby, Abby loves fish!

Also while my parents were here they got the chance to visit with some old friends, the Houses. They have known the Houses since our days of living in California. They drove in for a few days and we all had a great time catching-up (it had been 26 years since I had seen them).

Along with getting plenty of pool time in my dad was also able to build some shelves in the nursery.

Next time we see my parents we will be a family of 4 instead of 3.

Aunt Remy and Juno's Visit

Last weekend Remy and her new dog Juno came to visit us. It was GREAT to see them! She drove in on Saturday and on Saturday night we headed out to dinner at the Yard House. Jim has been wanting to try this restaurant because they have over 150 beers on tap. Unfortunately, it was not the best dinning experience for Jim. He asked for a sample of a beer and then he tried the rest of the night to figure out what sample they gave him...when he asked for a full size of the sample they brought him out a completely different beer. It was very frustrating for him because he truly enjoyed the sample. Remy and I enjoyed our meals at least.

On Sunday morning Aunt Remy gave Abby her very 1st dental exam. She did great and Abby's teeth look good. Abby has the best dentist EVER!

After the dental exam Remy, Juno, Abby, and I headed to the park. Abby really loves slides!





The rest of Sunday was spent hanging out at the pool; which has quickly become our favorite Sunday activity.



The dogs also enjoyed a lazy day by the pool...

We did have some weather blow in...our first rain of the summer...

Sunday evening we relaxed in front of a movie, Monster's Inc.


Monday morning Remy and Juno headed back home. We were sad to see her go but we are very excited to see Remy and Joe in a few weeks in Hawaii.
