Grandma and Grandpa Rogers

On the evening of July 3rd Grandma and Grandpa Rogers came to town. The girls were very excited to see them. So excited that they waited up after their bedtime to greet them.

The next day was July 4th and the girls were very excited for the fire works, the 4th has always been one of the girl's favorite holidays. We also had fun this year with some 4th of July decorations...

In the morning we swam...

...afternoon we rested...

...then, with the help of our neighbors (Allison and Ryan), we got ready for our festivities.

First thing, poppers...

Girls can't wait for the main event!

But first, sparklers...

Finally, time for the main show!

Grand finally!

After out little show we headed up to our balcony. We get the BEST view of the valleys fireworks from our balcony...fireworks from every angle!!!

On Sunday the 5th we had a relaxing day at home playing blocks, games, copy draw with grandpa and watching the women's world cup...go USA!

On Monday the 6th we attempted to go to the 51's baseball game but, unfortunately, we were rained out. Can you believe it, in Vegas, RAINED OUT!

Due to the rain delay we were given tickets to the next day's game. Luckily, on the next day, we had better luck with the weather.

Abby even got a couple of game balls!

On Wednesday the 8th the girls had so much fun swimming and playing with their grandparents. We also took them to the library and out to gelato, YUM!

On Thursday, July 9th it was time for Grandma and Grandpa to head home. We had a GREAT visit and can't wait to see them again soon!

Glasses For Abby!

On Wednesday, June 3rd I took Abby to her very first eye doctor appointment. At the appointment we found out that she was a bit far sighted and could use a slight correction to help her read. Jim and I talked about it for a while...with a slight correction does she really need them? But, we finally decided to move forward in getting glasses for her. On Wednesday, July 1st we went out and picked out her 1st pair of glasses.

I think she likes them. And, of course, they are PURPLE!

We didn't get to take them home right away of course but on July 14th Abby was very excited to pick up her new glasses!

UPDATE:

On Tuesday, August 11th Abby left her glasses out on the counter and then this happened...

Our dear 6 month old puppy Ellie DESTROYED them. It was back to the eye doctor for us and for $210.00 Abby will have new glasses in a week.

Abby's new glasses on August 19th. This time they will be kept far far far away from Ellie!!

Ellie's 1st Day at the Dog Park

On Friday, June 26th we were FINALLY able to take Ellie to the dog park. She did very well and fit on nicesly with all of Chewy's dog park friends.

One her first day she did stay close to Chewy...

...I would too! Chewy is such a good boy!

Princess Bride, Father's Day, and #9

On Friday, June 19th we introduced the girls to one of my favorite movies of all times, Princess Bride! INCONCEIVABL!...imagine the spit flying!

I don't know if the girls said they liked because they know I love it so much but...they sat through the whole thing and said that they wanted to watch it again...and they have!

On Father's day we all headed up to Mt. Charleston for a great hike to Mary Jane Falls.

I am very lucky to have this amazing man as the father of my children!

Happy father's day Papa, your girls and I love you very much!!

Monday, June 22nd marked Chewy's 9th birthday! I can hardly believe it! To celebrate we got him a bone and he was nice enough to share it with Ellie!

Happy birthday dear Chewy!

Kera's 1st Dance Recital!

On Tuesday, June 16th Kera had her very first dance recital! This year her recital is to, Somewhere over the Rainbow.  But before the recital she had her dress rehearsal on Monday. Kera was SO EXCITED!

I was not allowed to watch her dress rehearsal but I do know that she was still a happy camper when she came back out.

On Tuesday before Kera's recital we had a chance to stop for a sweet treat...gelato!

I promised the girls one gelato cone each when they finish a library reading card; which equals reading 20 books. So far this summer they have earned 3 gelato cones.

Tuesday at 4 was Kera's recital. Unfortunately, Abby got sick last minute so, I was the only one able to attend. I am so sad that Abby and Jim didn't get to witness Kera's dance. She did an amazing job and had so much fun!

Hopefully next year the rest of the family can enjoy Kera's recital!
