On Saturday, June 21st our dear friends, the Weber's, came to town from Chicago. We were beyond excited to see them and, it had been WAY too long since the last time we were able to spend time together.
Like always, they spoiled us and the girls.
We had the best time watching Germany vs. Ghana game in the World Cup. Unfortunately, it was a group game and it ended in a 2-2 tie.
After the game, it was off to the pool...
After the pool we had a great salmon dinner!
After dinner, Manuela was nice enough to read the girl's their bedtime stories.
After the girls were in bed it was time for what Frank, Manuela, Jim, and myself do best...play games, drink adult beverages, listen to music, and laugh.
Manuela won this time but, hopefully we will be able to have a rematch soon!
We found out during this visit that our dear friends will be moving back to Germany at the end of the year. We were greatly saddened by this news but we were also happy that they will be finally going home. Frank and Manuela, you both will be missed but, we will see you again! Thank you so much for coming to see us!! We love you and miss you and will always remember the very first time we met in Naperville at our American version of Oktoberfest...The BEST friends we could have ever imagined moving in next door! Well at least you got us to use the correct colors for Oktoberfest...blue and white...

Mermaids in Vegas!
On Thursday, June 19th I took the girls to see mermaids. Yes, mermaids, in Vegas. At the Silverton Hotel Casino there are mermaids...REAL mermaids! The problem is that they are only there at certain times and if you do not get there at the right time then, there is quite a delay in between the next sighting...good thing there was other things to do while we waited.
Bass Pro Shop, is right next door, have some amazing fish!
Luckily Silverton Hotel Casino also has a Starbucks for some needed refreshments!
Finally, we wasted enough time to see the MERMAIDS!
She was beautiful and even played paddy cake with Abby.
And, blew her a kiss.
It was worth the wait!

Kera's Last Dance Class
On Monday, June, 16th Kera had her last dance class of the season.
The end of dance season was a bit rough for Kera...she seemed to lose interest and it was a bit of a struggle to get her to and keep her in class...so, next fall I think we will try something new.

Visitors From Texas
On Thursday, June 12 (after Abby's dress rehearsal) our friends the Ranney's rolled into town, literally. They drove their RV from Frisco, TX to Las Vegas...with a few stops along the way.
On Thursday night we all headed out to dinner at Yard House which is located in the Red Rock casino. Red Rock was the Ranney boy's first experience with a casino and, not surprisingly they were fascinated with the lights and noises!
Unfortunately, Jim had to work on Friday but that didn't stop our fun...pool day!!
There was also some time for some video game fun...the Ranney's brought their Wii along.
On Saturday was Abby's dance recital, so...we had a busy day of primping, waiting around, dancing, and then more waiting.
First the primping...
Then, waiting around...
Dancing...
More waiting...
Another fun recital for Abby!
On Saturday night Monica and Chris headed out for the evening to meet with one of Monica's old friends so we had all the kids for the evening. It was "fun" trying to get 4 kids to sleep rather than just 2.
Sunday was father's day so, another pool day was in order.
On Sunday evening the adults ACTUALLY got to go out on the town and we were lucky enough to use our friend's au pair, Miriam, as our babysitter. While the adults were out to dinner...
...and a show (Beatles Love)...
The kids were at home watching a movie. And, what better way to entertain 2 boys on a Sunday evening? Why, watch Frozen...of course! Noah would never admit it but, he liked it.
The Ranney's continued on their journey home in their RV first thing on Monday morning. It was a fun visit and hopefully one day, we can go visit them in Frisco.
