Memorial Day Weekend, Part 2

On Tuesday, May 27th the girls and I took Pepe and Burrs to the children's museum. We ALL had a great time!

In the afternoon we had some fun pool time!

After dinner it was time to celebrate Pepe and Burrs visit with some frozen yogurt.

As the girls will tell you...it was good to the last drop!

On Wednesday my parents were off...camping their way back to Seattle. Till next time Pepe and Burrs!

Memorial Day Weekend, Part 1

On Thursday, May 22nd my parents arrived in town. They had left their house the previous Saturday and were camping their way to us. Unfortunately, my dad got sick in Yosemite and they had to cut their time there short so, even though I was happy to see them a day early, it is never fun to be sick away from home.

Luckily, my day was on the mend so, on Saturday morning we headed out for a family camping trip. We were a bit behind the eight ball when we decided to find a place to camp for the holiday weekend so, we ended up reserving a spot at Echo Bay. Little did we know that all amenities at Echo Bay closed down 7 years ago due to the reducing water levels in Lake Mead.

Unfortunately, today, it looks NOTHING like this instead, it looked like this...

 

 

 

But, we still tried to make the best of it AND the girls had a great time staying in the tent trailer with my parents. Plus, there was still the lake...

...which Chewy, my dad, and the girls enjoyed...ESPECIALLY Chewy!

In the evening we had a nice dinner.

 And of course, SMORES!

With all the activity the girls were zonked!

The next morning we headed over to Valley of Fire for a good hike.

And then, it was back to the lake.

The girls sure love to camp but next time we will research the site a bit better!

 First thing on Monday we headed home. We were anxious to get out of the heat plus we were having company over that afternoon for some pool time and BBQ fun.

Abby's Graduation

On the Wednesday, May 21st our Abby graduated from preschool...I can't believe that she will be in kindergarten next year! The morning of graduation Abby was SO nervous! I had made pancakes and her tummy was too tumbly to eat. To help calm her nerves I let her borrow my 4-leaf clover bracelet. Here are some pictures from the event...

They even had caps and gowns!

The reason Abby was so nervous is because each student had to stand in front of everyone and say their name, what they wanted to be when they grew-up, and a bible verse. Unfortunately when it came time for Abby to speak she was still so nervous that I could not hear her but, she said that she wanted to be a rock star and her bible verse was; "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made", Psalm 139:14.

It was so much fun hearing what the kids wanted to be when they grew up! There were 3 kids that wanted to be house cleaners (WHAT?!?), a little girl who wanted to be a gift wrapper, another girl that wanted to be Elsa from frozen, and then there were a few super heroes and doctors mixed in.

She was SO SERIOUS throughout the whole graduation but Jim did finally get her to crack a smile

The day after graduation the whole preschool had a group picnic at a local park. A great time was had by all...especially since the park had a splash pad!

WOW, next school year Abby is in kindergarten!
