Carson City

On New Years eve we were all in bed early because we had a busy next few days planned.

On New Years day we watched the rose bowl parade and packed...for Carson City. We have been wanting to check out Carson for quite a while and we are finally got our opportunity.

On the 2nd we all climbed into the car and made the 7 hour drive to Carson City. After we checked into our hotel we headed right to the local micro-brew, High Sierra Brewing Company.

It was good eats and good brew!

Unfortunately, after a good first night our trip turned a bit sour. First, Jim got pulled over for speeding. Luckily, he got off with a warning. Then, we started to hear a weird noise in the car. We decided it was too weird of a noise to ignore so, we took it in to be looked at. The issue, blown wheel barring...$200+ dollars later we were safely back on the road.

Even with our day full of issues we still managed to check out Carson City's children's museum.

Even though the museum was small, the girl's had a great time!

Dinner on our second night was at a great BBQ place, Reds Old 395 Grill. The girls even had a good time at this restaurant mainly because of the magician walking around.

On Saturday the 4th, after a bit of touring we headed to Heavenly Ski Resort in Tahoe. Amazingly it was only about 30 minutes away from Carson. Our reason for going to Heavenly, ice skating! The girls were beyond excited! Especially Abby!

In total Abby was on the ice for 2.5 hours! Granted, we had two breaks one, for lunch and two, for the ice to be cleaned but total time equaled 2.5 hours! Abby impressed us with her tenacity. She was determined and didn't quit. By the end of the first half hour she was amazingly skating on her own!

Kera, on the other hand, had a bit harder of a time. She had a few HIGE tantrums! But, we do have to remember that she is only 3.

Kera did end the day on a positive note and end up having a good time on the ice.

As you can imagine, after so much skating the girls were exhausted!

So exhausted in fact that Kera slept through our whole dinner at The Firkin and Fox Pub and Restaurant.

On Sunday we headed back to Vegas. It is fun to be away but it is always great to come home to our fuzzy children.

Twas the Days After Christmas

In the days after Christmas we stayed busy.

On the 26th a few of us headed to the Bellagio conservatory to check out the holiday decorations. They always put together a beautiful display!

There was plenty of time to snuggle with Pepe...

...and make cookies with Burrs.

On the 30th Jim had to go to work but, the rest of us headed to check out a new park, Craig Ranch Regional Park. This park was AMAZING! So many fun things to explore!

The adults couldn't resist getting in on the fun either...

The girls and I can wait to take Jim back there some time real soon!

Last, but not least, there was time for movie and snuggle time with Burrs....luckily she was Burrs was feeling better!

It was a fun filled holiday visit!

A Very Merry Christmas!

Santa was very kind to us this year!

He even left us a very nice note!

Santa left the girls new bikes this year...they were thrilled...

Stockings were filled with goodies...

...even a clown nose!

Pepe finding something silly in his stocking...

Our fuzzy children enjoying their gifts...for Chewy, a bone shaped squeaky toy and for Billy, a fish shaped toy with cat nip inside. Abby and Kera were very helpful in making the toys for Chewy and Billy!

Looks like Billy REALLY likes his new toy!

Here are a few more pictures from out fun morning...

New scooters from Auntie Remy, Uncle Joe, and Cousin Maya...

Nothing is more fun than the Christmas wrapping mess!

After presents we ate a great breakfast and then headed out to play...

In the afternoon we had some time for a round of cards with Pepe...

Christmas dinner...turkey with all the fixings...

...and of course there were poppers with paper crowns and toys.

Even though she was not seen in pictures my mom was with us but, unfortunately, she was not feeling well and denied all picture opts.

It was an amazing Christmas and the girls were at the perfect age to enjoy all the magic of the season!
