Oregon Coast

On Monday, September 16th we left Seattle with the plan of driving to Florence, OR and staying there for the evening but, the drive was actually...good...so we were able to make it all the way to our desired location, Gold Beach. We got into town pretty late so we quickly checked into our hotel and then found a place for dinner...

...PIZZA!

We were so hungry from our drive we managed to eat the whole pie!

When we woke-up on Monday morning we had some AM fog so we decided to take a drive to the redwoods. This was a BAD choice! After our long drive the day before we should have NEVER put the girls back into the car and they made sure to tell us and act out how bad of a decision we had made. We ended up seeing some beautiful trees, that the girls could care less about.

On the way back from the redwoods we stopped at one of the beautiful beaches. Luckily, the beach improved all of our moods!

As soon as we got to the sand Jim let Chewy off of his leash and he ran full speed right into the ocean! He was in heaven!!

We had a great afternoon walking the beach and exploring!

After a bit of relaxation time at our hotel we headed to the beach in front of our hotel to watch the sunset.
The is a picture of our hotel from the beach.

Here is a video of the girls playing on the beach before sunset...LOVE THEM!

For dinner we went to a local Chowder House. It didn't look like much from the outside but it ended up being a great meal!

On Tuesday we leaned our lesson and decided to have a beach day.  I have so many great pictures here are just a few:

Morning...

Break for lunch...

After some quiet time at the hotel it was back out to the beach!

Chewy had so fun swimming yesterday we let him off the leash again. I tried to get it on video and as you will see it was not an easy task.

So, not long after Chewy fell down Kera fell in the same spot. Good thing I had some extra clothes with me but, the poor girl was shivering the rest of our time on the beach.

We had an amazing afternoon and evening at Meyers Creek State Park! Again, I had so many great pictures here are a few of them...

What is a goose doing here?

We were having so much fun at the beach exploring and collecting sand dollars that it got too late to go out for dinner so, the girls experienced their first microwave dinner.

After our busy beach day were all exhausted...especially Chewy!

Thursday was our last day on the coast so, we decided to soak up as much of the local beaches as we could!

In the morning we headed to the beach in front of our hotel. We ran, played with driftwood structures and collected pretty rocks.

In the afternoon it was back to our favorite beach, Meyers Creek!

For our final dinner we headed back to the Chowder House...it was so good the first time around! We had such a great time in Gold Beach that we plan on going back next year, and the year after, and the year after....

On Friday morning it was time to pack up the car and head to our next destination...LAS VEGAS!

Seattle, Part 4...Jim FINALLY Arrives!

On Friday morning the girls and I headed to downtown Kirkland. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as nice as I was hoping but we still had fun on the water front...

...and had a nice lunch at The Slip.

After lunch we headed home and awaited Jim's LONG awaited arrival! After too many days delayed Jim finally arrived at my parent's house at 3 pm Friday afternoon. We were so happy that he finally made it to us safe. But, a bit of bad news, the car's check engine light was back on!?! This meant that Jim had to head back to another dealership on Saturday to figure out what the issue was before we headed to the Oregon coast bright and early on Monday morning.

While Jim headed to the dealership on Saturday, I was able to meet up with my college friend Brecken and her daughter Nola.

It was great to catch-up with Brecken and to meet her sweet little girl.

While Jim was at the dealership he learned that the car was drivable, thank goodness! The issue with the car had something to do with emissions. We will need to get it fixed but it was not an immediate need.

Saturday night Jim finally got to join us on one of our pre-planned activities....a night with some of his ex coworkers. In total there were 7 adults and 7 kids which, equals... a very fun zoo! A very big thank you to Brendan and Kera for hosting us all!

It was also the first time, on this trip, that Jim was able to see Maya and Remy!

Sunday morning we headed to Gig Harbor for a day with Joe, Remy, and Maya. We had a great day of eating and relaxing....a well deserved break for Jim!

Webcam with Grandma and Grandpa!

With all the fun we had, we even had time for a family dance party...

It was a great day with our family!

On Monday morning it was time for us all to pile into the car and head to the Oregon coast for a few days.

Thank you Pepe and Burrs for the great week!

Next stop, Oregon!
